Plot Summary
Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki (which is often translated to You Are Too Naive, My Sweetheart) is a very cute, fast-paced school-life romance.
It first introduces Nana Oono, a high school girl who loves shoujo manga romance and is easily moved by compliments or slightly romantic encounters. She often calls herself “easy,” or in other words, simple-minded.
One day, not too long after Nana and her friend were discussing the different boys in their class, Nana finds herself being bluntly rejected out of nowhere—and by the class delinquent! He mistook her for a different classmate, who wanted to confess to him in the location Nana happened to be at.
Nana scolds her delinquent classmate—named Tomoharu Sudaka—for using such a heartless rejection, even though it wasn’t really meant for her. Regardless, she encourages him to think of the other party’s feelings and to engage in conversation that is considerate of others.
In response, Sudaka confesses that he actually likes Nana—much to her surprise! Despite the fact that she had just lectured him about having productive conversations, Nana speeds out of there immediately. This is just the beginning of their fun and interesting relationship!
Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki is a cute shoujo romcom that features an early budding romance between an easy-to-please romantic and a very earnest delinquent!
Why I Enjoyed Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki
This manga is a great pick for readers who want a very cute, easygoing school-life romance. It’s a bit silly at times, and overall very positive. I do personally think we might see some more serious backstories later, but we’ll have to keep reading to find out. As of now, the story is just a lot of sweetness!
The romance feels youthful, showcasing this young couple’s growth in their relationship as they experience many firsts and learn more about each other. It’s incredibly cute and wholesome—there’s not much drama either so far, making the plot feel rather lighthearted and fun.
The plot of Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki starts off quick, especially since the male lead is very straightforward. He isn’t afraid to share his feelings and try to make Nana fall for him! Nana, on the other hand, has a heart that is hilariously easy to capture.
She’s a bit embarrassed by this (fearing that she is too simple-minded), but quickly decides to embrace it. And because of this, she can’t help but notice him and have her heart get excited over his advances!
So, if you are a reader who prefers fast romantic progress instead of slow burns, this will be a great pick for you! It also has a little bit of an opposites-attract sort of feel to it since Nana is a naïve, sweet girl, and Tomoharu is someone who the entire class is afraid of.
Even with the characters’ contrasting personalities, Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki is a very sweet, wholesome, and silly romance. The characters are kind and thoughtful, and the plot of the story feels very appreciative of even the smallest experiences.
These young lovebirds find happiness in the little things, and it’s a joy to read! The romance is cute and progresses nicely. Even though it starts quickly, their relationship still feels rather natural.
The plot really highlights a lot of classic school-life shoujo events, like going on dates or enjoying school festivals. It captures the goofiness of high schoolers and the excitement of your first love.
These characters learn to form or repair friendships, as well as the ups and downs of dating. It’s not wildly different from typical shoujo plots, but was still fun and heartwarming to read regardless.
Another great part of Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki is the art style. It features an extremely pretty and modern art, but oftentimes both of the leads are drawn in some funny ways too which I really enjoyed. The female lead is most often cute, starry-eyed, and lovestruck—but is frequently drawn with some very silly faces, especially when she experiences a romantic moment.
The male lead on the other hand is very handsome and effortlessly smooth, but is also drawn looking either hilariously nonchalant or even menacing at times, which made me chuckle while reading this manga. I love the nice balance between the silly, comedic expressions and the blushing shoujo looks. It really helped create a blended romcom setting!
Lastly, there is what feels like a second ML in this manga; however I’m still unsure if we can truly call him that. You’ll see what I mean when you read Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki yourself. I actually like his character a lot so far, and I think other readers probably will, too! I wouldn’t worry too much, though.
This manga really keeps a lot of focus on the main couple, and doesn’t dedicate a ton of story to many side characters. If you prefer romance manga without extra subplots, then you’ll probably really like this one.

Any Cons?
I don’t have a ton of cons for this one. I’ll mention that this manga is more on the cheesy side, so if that’s not your kind of thing, just be aware.
It also doesn’t have the most detailed or long-winded plot; so if you were looking for complex characters, story-building, or tons of drama, this definitely isn’t it! Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki simply focuses more on the daily lives of a cute young couple, as their feelings grow and their relationship develops.
While at first you might think the relationship is shallow, it quickly becomes sweet and exciting; so trust the process! It does move quickly though, so keep that in mind. It makes a great manga for readers who want a speedy, sweet, and wholesome shoujo story!
Final Thoughts
Chorokute Kawaii Kimi Ga Suki is a very cute and fun manga thus far with a fast-paced, youthful romance. It has the classic “high-school life” vibe to it that many shoujos feature, and a very lovely art style. I personally think we might see some more character growth or backstories in the future, but the content available as of now is very wholesome! Definitely check it out.
P.S. There’s a one-shot story by the same author called Chorokute Kawaii that seems to be about Nana’s mom. It’s pretty cute too, if you’d like to check it out!
