Hello Baby – Plot Summary
Fans of the webtoon Age Matters may recognize this art style! Enjelicious returns with yet another intriguing story! Hello Baby starts with Gwen Zalameda, who attends a cruise vacation with her friend, Carol, after she fails to invite a potential date.
While on this cruise, she tries to talk to some people in the hopes of meeting her special person. Unfortunately, even with Carol’s encouragement, she doesn’t have much luck clicking with anyone.
Suddenly, on the last day of the trip, she is used as an escape method by a handsome man named Arthur Morante, who wanted to leave the party scene. Instead of leaving, they end up spending more of the night together, learn more about each other, and even share a passionate one-night stand!
After some time apart, it turns out… they have a child together! But an unexplained conflict keeps them from being a normal couple and happy family. Hello Baby slowly unravels the mysterious tension between these two, as well as underlying problems and backstories from each of them.
What happened while they were apart? Will they rekindle the romance they felt during that fateful night? Read this Webtoon and find out! But first, let’s talk more about why this story is so enjoyable…

Why I Enjoyed Hello Baby
Being someone who enjoyed Age Matters, I practically jumped onto the Hello Baby webtoon when I saw the art style. Enjelicious has a very identifiable style of art, since it is rather unique. I’m not sure how to explain it, but something about the way the author draws the characters is very unlike other webtoons (in a good way, of course).
I love Hello Baby for a similar reason that made me enjoy Age Matters. The story takes a mature, adult relationship and a unique scenario, and writes about it in a way that is very engaging and occasionally comedic.
The characters in Hello Baby are young adults trying to survive the circumstances life has thrown at them. In the beginning, we see a lot of conflict between the two after they are reunited. Gwen may seem unfriendly towards Arthur, but it’s clear after learning her backstory that she simply wants to protect her precious baby, named Leon.
She definitely has her reasons for putting up a wall, it just takes time for us readers to understand why. It also takes time for Arthur to understand and to be able to break that wall down.
Even Arthur has his questionable actions, but I love that he’s a bit more obvious in his affection for Gwen. He may be intimidating with his wealth and job position, but still holds a soft spot for the wonderful woman he met on the cruise!
He isn’t in it just for his unexpected child, but also for the unforgettable feelings he holds for Gwen, too! Throughout the Hello Baby Webtoon, he is sincere in his actions and intentions.
Both characters create the conflict in their relationship. It’s a bit fun this way, as we (the readers) get to be on both characters’ teams and sort of hope for the relationship to rekindle slowly! This slow-burn story is so interesting and keeps you wanting more.
It’s not necessarily an enemies to lovers romance (I wouldn’t call them actual enemies), but does sort of read like a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers story, haha! These two have an undeniable chemistry that pulls them together! Because of this, the romance isn’t insanely slow, but takes an appropriate amount of time to get somewhere.
So, if you love a sort of push-and-pull dynamic and are a fan of the enemies to lovers trope, the Hello Baby webtoon could be a great pick for you! We get to see these characters rekindle a past romance and learn to overcome many of their struggles together.
I personally think that Arthur’s character is especially enjoyable, because he’s very direct with his feelings and so unfiltered in his words. He tries to be very understanding and respectful to Gwen, but makes it known how he feels about her. He’s also very smooth and is great at delivering the sweetest lines.
Gwen seems to not have forgotten about Arthur either, regardless of the wall she has built. She can’t ignore what’s in her heart! But these two have a lot of challenges to overcome before they can reveal their feelings or actually be a family. Legal challenges, familial obstacles, and many personal struggles!
Regardless of whether Arthur was expecting a child or not, he quickly takes up fatherly responsibilities and clearly shows his love for his new baby.
The baby doesn’t just connect the two main characters together, but also becomes a very important part of the story. Be ready to see some baby cuteness often while reading this webtoon!

Overall the story is cute, romantic, and wholesome. It portrays a variety of family structures and realistic relations between family members, both good and bad. I like the common theme of “family” and how the definition of that word is very flexible.
There is no “normal” when it comes to creating a family, as long as there are people who care about you!
Any Cons?
I can’t say much without spoiling the story, but there is one obvious con in this webtoon: the miscommunication trope. Understandably, these two don’t really trust each other for their own reasons.
But if they would just open up, be more vulnerable, and tell each other about their own circumstances, everything could have been solved much quicker! So if you hate the miscommunication trope, maybe beware.
Also, Arthur is often made out to be the bad guy very often in this Webtoon because of something he does early on, but nobody ever talks about Gwen’s behavior. I personally think she is just as guilty as he is, and sort of disliked this aspect of Hello Baby.
The custody battle is an important part of the story, but I personally think it feels a little unfair in how it’s framed. Both sides made mistakes!
Final Thoughts
So far, Hello Baby is a very cute webtoon that has been a delight to read. Although ongoing, we have lots of content to enjoy and lots of loose ends to fix before things feel totally complete with the plot.
Therefore, I hope we have lots of progress and romantic developments to look forward to! And of course, more cute Leon!
